Lemonheads linked to German battle of the bands competition

***THE LEMONHEADS ARE NOT PLAYING THESE DATES ***

According to Jagermeister's press office in Germany...

The Lemonheads play five dates in March as a bill which makes up Group D of the competition - the other two bands being Electric Six and German band Trashmonkeys. Dates are:

Mar 23 - Longhorn, Stuttgart
Mar 24 - Backstage Werk, Munich
Mar 25 - Stollwerck, Cologne
Mar 26 - Alter Schlachthof, Dresden
Mar 27 - Glad-House, Cottbus

Tickets are €12, available now from http://www.ticketmaster.de" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; - search for "Jägermeister Rock: Liga".

Each band plays for 45 mins, and winners of each group are determined by that old staple of the daytime TV quiz show, the clap-o-meter.

Other bands in the competition include The Whip, The Blood Arm and Crystal Castles.

Mistake or not, there are ads all over the German music press and tickets are on sale now. It seems even more bizarre than the shows itself that Jägermeister and x-why-z (a very respected german booking agency) would put tickets on sale without being in touch with the management or artists involved?

Very strange, will be interesting to see how things turn out.

Yes Folks, it is true and confirmed - The Lemonheads gonna play these shows, I just talked to the booking agency.
And theren is no chance for Tortuga Bar to jump on this shows, now we've got to wait until we know if there will be maybe more shows in Europe.
I sent a mail to Evan & Elizabeth and asked them if they really know what they are going to do!
To play these crappy Battle Events is not so cool, I guess...
But maybe it all turns out into lots of fun...

I wouldn't advise anyone to buy tickets until we have confirmation from Evan or his management, who at the moment are both saying these shows are NOT confirmed.

Interestingly enough, tickets are still being sold for this tour with the Lemonheads firmly in the line-up. If the Lemonheads are not showing up, maybe someone from Evan's people should get in touch with the promoters to stop the false advertisement?

FYI - the Jägermeister dates also have been confirmed by the Karsten Jahnke agency, which has been booking Dando solo and with his band in Germany for the past decade or so. It doesn't get much more official than that, so the shows are on!

Not what we're hearing, I'm afraid. Mallocup's been all over this one, and the last we heard, The Lemonheads are not confirmed for these dates.

Hopefully this will all be cleared up once and for all soon, as the dates are starting to come around. As things stand, irrespective of what is being said in Germany, what we're hearing from the end that deals with getting Evan and co on a plane leads us to stick to what was said earlier - we do not advise people to book tickets for these dates if they're attending exclusively to see The Lemonheads.

If we hear any differently, we'll let you know.
