its sunday july 19 6:25 p.m. here in new york city and i just called evan at home. . he just got back from massachusetts. he was in great spirits but not partying . tomorrow he has to procure working papers as he goes to europe this week to play just a few shows [ he mentioned germany specifically]. he said the tour "had its ups and downs" but while "everyone talks about the one bad one" most of the shows were great ,and he said the wellfleet ,mass. show was really good. i asked him about another u.s. tour and he said he would probably play some solo shows as it's a bit more manageable.but then he also mentioned the band ,so who knows? he was nice enough to ask what i'd been doing and he said we should get a drink when he returns to the states in early august.finally ,i asked him if it was okay to post this update on the site and he said "yes of course".

Nice post. I actually went to the Wellfleet show. It was at the Beachcomber, which in my opinion is the greatest beach bar on Cape Cod. A real classic. Unfortunately, it rained all day and was cold, which definitely detracted a bit from the atmosphere

Anyway, venue is quite small and there's nothing going on around there so the bandmembers all spent some time walking around the place before hand. I was able to enjoy a drink with Vess beforehand, which was cool.

The show was really good, although early on Evan misinterpreted a fan's cheering and started yelling at him from the stage. Turns out the guy was bummed because he was cheering as loud as anyone. Other than that weird moment, show was great. Typical set list, with 3-4 tracks off latest album spread throughout.

The Lemonheads have cancelled their show at the North-west German festival
