evan's cousin erich luening opened with a nice solo set. then colin ruel and band delivered a rocking electric set. a guy from a band called MGMT named andrew played a few songs with them [ i think this info is correct !] at 10:18 pm , chris brokaw of a band called come [guitar], todd phillips [drums]farley glavin [bass] & some guy named evan strode on stage to an almost sold out knitting factory. evan was in good ,if somewhat subdued spirits.the crowd was receptive, fairly but not overly enthusiastic, and respectful. CONFETTI , DOWN ABOUT IT, ALISON, HOSPITAL, DRUG BUDDY,STYLE, GREAT BIG NO, LEFT FOR DEAD, SHAME ABOUT RAY, BREAK ME, DAWN CAN'T DECIDE , DON'T TELL YOURSELF,HANNA& GABI,TENDERFOOT, IT'S ABOUT TIME just evan and chris on electrics played : frying pan, ride with me, being around ,all my life,why do you do this to yourself? , the outdoor type ...full band on the final three : STOVE, RUDDERLESS ...encore : INTO YOUR ARMS ...they delivered a very nice set and the extra guitar obviously gives it a fuller sound.... if you are fortunate enough to be on martha's vineyard this week , check out the tour's final show on friday night.

also- evan's sister was there as well as bryce goggin. he has worked with the ramones , produced phish , and more importantly , he played on and produced the lemonheads 1996 masterpiece----- car button cloth

"I recently played guitar on 5 shows with THE LEMONHEADS, which were terrific. It is great to be playing with Evan again. It looks like this will continue, and so far we have 4 shows lined up for late September in California. The hope is that we'll begin work on a new album this fall."

Still trying to decide if I can get up to Chicago to see one of the solo gigs with FOW and Soul Asylum.
