Come On Feel The Lemonheads...

Post by retlivdead » Sat Oct 12, 2013 11:36 am

... is 20 years old today. (TWENTY YEARS!)

I was in sixth form at the time doing my A-Levels and I remember coming out of sociology class and going into Corby town centre to buy it from Our Price. Rest Assured was my favourite song on it straight away and I think it probably still is today.

If ever there was a record of two sides it's Come On Feel, the first half carries on from where Ray left us whereas the second is the oddest 20 minutes Evan Dando has ever committed to record, it's all over the place but that just adds to its genius.

It's a Shame About Ray gets the plaudits but I think I prefer Come On Feel.

Wow, that is pretty much the same riff! Haha I've heard that song a lot on the radio recently and seen Joanna Gruesome live a few times and never noticed it before. Great spot!

I asked Evan about a deluxe 'Come On...' a few months back on FB - he seemed enthusiastic about the idea but dunno if it's going to happen...

There seems to be a surge of "come on feel the lemonheads" inspired bands around at the moment (well, 2) - I'm liking this bands new lp:
http://youtu.be/Lkni5QYgcvE
- actually saw them last year and they did a cover of Down About it - they also have a clip of them singing it on youtube and the singers wearing a lemonheads t shirt. Tying in with another recent thread on the cost of vinyl - i bought their LP in red vinyl off the bands website , complete with instant download, - minimum price was only £7 (I always end up payin more mind, guilty conciensce). But it really annoys me when I see established bands knocking them out for £30.

This came out just a few days before my birthday. I remember visiting my brother at uni and he had got me the vinyl for my birthday.
