New Single News

Post by lemonhead1961 » Sun Oct 12, 2003 1:53 pm

I don't think I've seen this news on the this site yet - from the Setanta website:

CD1
1. It Looks Like You
2. The Same Thing You Thought Hard About Is the Same Part I Can Live Without (Live in Brussels, June 2003)
3. Hannah and Gabi (Live in Seattle, June 2003)

CD2
1. It Looks Like You
2. Hospital (Live in Frankfurt, May 2003)
3. I'm in Love With Your Mom (Live in Munich, May 2003)

7"
1. It Looks Like You
2. Whoops
3. The Todd Killings

Why do they bother releasing this on vinyl? My turntable was binned ages ago.

I'm in love for the first time
I'm in love with your mom
Got a boner in my pants for her
Wanna suck her thong...

...Every night, I stay up late
I beat it till I'm sore...

and lots more

You've got to hear it. It's great. A cover of a song by the Angry Samoans. :D

whilst i'd prefer to see some new material,
good to see plenty of live tracks across the formats..

...raises my hopes that they'll be a decent live lp kickin' around at some point

lizzie_london wrote:I was really hoping for a live version of Waking Up (maybe next time??), but Same Thing is pretty cool live too - my second favourite live from Baby I'm Bored - the opening lines are mesmeric with those crunching guitars - another joke at my expense, I can't believe where the time went - gives me shivers :D
My fav lyrics from same thing are " a broken heart and two black eyes but you should see the other guy" fucking awsome 8)

the same thing

Post by danballz » Wed Oct 15, 2003 2:36 pm

I met Evan a couple of nights ago after a show and he personally sang The Same Thing to me acoustic. He also taught me the chords.. I played it on his guitar which by the way had an Angry Samoans sticker on it.
And you saw nothing in my eyes but yourself.

From the website
http://www.setantarecords.com/php/main.php

It's 17th November

I agree with Lizzie about a live version of Waking Up - that was the one song that really surprised me - it sounded so much better live - I'd kinda overlooked it a bit on the disc. I have the chords worked out somewhere if anyone wants then I can try and dig them out - I don't think the tab posted up on LazyG's site were comlete or quite right.

Been listening to the Givegoods album - not as brilliant as I'd hoped but it's not bad and it's early days - only listened to it a couple of times, I think Tom Morgan is a genius songwriter - the disc insert has a couple of snaps of Evan looking happy and relaxed - he plays some pretty basic drums on one track and bass on the albums best track Here About The Buddha's, there's even the odd line of vocals.

I'd be grateful for a copy of the tab to Waking Up. About time I put my processor to good use :D

I'll type that up in the next couple of days - should also have something else for the lemonflavoured musos hanging out here.

Has anyone seen a video, or heard anything about its release other than on this site?

Considering it's released on Monday, there's been a deathly silence.

WAKING UP (E. Dando/R. Langdon)

N/C = no chord!

This is how I play the rhythm, take the first line "Put the other.."and...
play the A using a quick down-up strum,
play the A->G using a quick down->down-up strum,
play the G->F using a quick down->down-up strum, then
play the F->Dm using a down-up->down-up strum with a short rest in between the F and Dm.

Intro:
[ A | A | F | F ] x3
[ A | A | F | Dm ]

[A]Put the other [A->G]rest of it a[G->F]round itself[F->Dm]
[A]Spray with [A->G]water, and re[G->F]store to health[F->Dm]
[F]Let it sleep, [Dm]still it keeps[N/C]
Wa-king u-u[Dm]p (aah aaah ah aaah aaah aaah aaah ah)
[A]wa[F]king u-u[Dm]p (aah aaah ah aaah aaah aaah aaah ah)
[A][A->G][G->F][F->Dm]
[A][A->G][G->F][F->Dm]

[A]Take a [A->G]shower and des[G->F]troy your health[F->Dm]
[A]Put the other [A->G]rest of it a[G->F]round itself[F->Dm]
[F]Let it sleep, [Dm]still it keeps
[A]wa[F]king u-u[Dm]p (aah aaah ah aaah aaah aaah aaah ah)
[A]wa[F]king u-u[Dm]p (aah aaah ah aaah aaah aaah aaah ah)
[A]wa[F]king u-u[Dm]p (aah aaah ah aaah aaah aaah aaah ah)
[A]wa[F]king u-u[Dm]p (aah aaah ah aaah aaah aaah aaah ah)
[A]wa[F]king u-u[Dm]p (aah aaah ah aaah aaah aaah aaah ah)
[A]wa[F]king u-u[Dm]p (aah aaah ah aaah aaah aaah aaah ah)
aaaaahhhhh

Enjoy
Neil
